Sunday May 15, 2011 I obviously have a 'It Gets Better' obsession going, I like how it's moved from the internet to TV so very much. This commercial was a quick succession of several different vids, I only barely got Adam, this was the least blurred because the dude just kept moving around.

Monday May 16, 2011 Birdies play on our fence. Lauren actually took this but I was standing right next to her looking out her bedroom window so, it counts. These birds were doing that fluffing-the-feathers thing. Eventually the one on the left fluffed himself (I assume he is a he) right off the edge, dropping like a stone. The other looked over at him and I could clearly imagine him saying, 'Whatthefuck, dude?'

Tuesday May 17, 2011 This cat made an appearance in my 365 before, sitting on my backyard fence. Here she's (I assume she's a she) sitting at the eve of her very own roof contentedly watching, off and on, me take her picture.

Wednesday May 18, 2011 First day of a major headache that followed me through the week so, courtyard!!

Thursday May 19, 2011 Because I got a little desperate, still had a major headache, knew I wouldn't be going ANYwhere but that I still needed to shot something so, my default tree with its cliched 'dapple sunlight' filtering through.

Friday May 20, 2011 Lauren photographing Juvenile Hall for a photo essay she's doing. As you can see/ read, she remembers things by writing them on her hand and though some are faded, this list includes at least five items.

Saturday May 21, 2011 Old building in an older part of San Jose which reminds that this town was once old west-like. One block away is Shaks Stadium!!

Migraine Triggers
Date: 2011-06-01 05:37 pm (UTC)My first ever migraine occurred at a circus performance when i was nine. I had to be taken home in the middle of the performance. The circus never came to Fayetteville, AR while we lived there. We moved when I was 12.
Fortunately, I didn't get a migraine everytime I encountered a trigger. FanSee
Headaches
Date: 2011-05-31 10:40 pm (UTC)On to the pictures: The story behind the birds on the fence had me smiling. It's so amusing when an animal does something clunky like that.
I love the cat on the roof. She's both up high, which cats love, and also snug in her den, which they also love. Purr-fect.
Post as many pictures as you want of your courtyard and your tree. I love 'em. FanSee
Re: Headaches
Date: 2011-06-01 05:19 pm (UTC)Glad you like the animal/ 'nature' photos and I will keep posting my courtyard. The problem I have with those though is that while they are pretty, they don't place me in time which I need for telling our story this year. I guess though that not every picture needs to be part of the narrative, some can just be a little more eternal, right? Balance in all things.

Date: 2011-06-02 08:12 pm (UTC)Your garden is lovely! I don't think I've said that yet, but I do like the neat vibe it has - like organized chaos with all the grasses and annuals mixed in.

I think, rather like fan fic, there's certain pics you have to take just as a rite of passage. :D
Also, remembering to snap a pic even when you feel like crap is an accomplishment in and of itself!
And, on a completely unrelated note, I do think it's awesome you two share photography together. My mom thought I was mental when I started the project. Now that she's seen the timeline of different things though (like our garden and the kitchen renovation) she'll ask (read: order) me to take pics of different things for her.

thank you for noticing, I think so too. Same goes for you.
I put a camera in Lauren's hands when she was a kid and just said, 'Take pictures, you'll learn what's good and what isn't'. She did take photography last year so I think the interest will stick with her. One of her photos, at the show, won a 2nd place so, that's nice encouragement. I think it's just so cool how your mom now sees the value, that she's even directing you in your 365...awesome. I only wish I'd thought to do something like this when we were younger, when Lauren was a child but, better late than never.
