The Color Meme
Jan. 7th, 2011 01:18 pmComment that you want to do this meme,
and I'll give you a color that I think represents you,
and then you list ten things you like in that color or ten things it reminds you of!

The black part was easy, much of my world has black things in it, what was difficult was the shiny aspect. Still, I managed although I question why I spent all morning photographing what can so easily be written in just a few simple words, which, frankly, I still had to do. Whatever.
Clickity-click on the pics to enlarge.
1) The car I just sold, my Pacifica, I called it my Beautiful Flying Black Dragon
2) The necklace Lauren 'bought' me for mother's day when she was nine years old. I think her dad may have helped just a little.
3) My first camera, a Minolta SLR I still have & my current camera, a FujiFilm digital. Am I the only one who sees that as an ironic name for a digital camera?
4) The way I take my coffee, strong, not so much shiny but shimmery, unsweetened and definitely jet black
5) A beautiful little native Anerican pot Daiv and I bought on our week-long sojourn from Albuquerque to Taos New Mexico back in the late 1980s, hitting every reservation we could find so we could buy little little pots because that's all we could afford.. While each place we explored was unique, Acoma was the one that touched my soul.
6) While not shiny, I love black kohl liner which is elegant
7) My porcelain horse which I probably got in San Francisco, but I can't any longer remember.
8) My tap shoes from when I was little. I'm the third from the left.
9) My carved guy which I got at a no-longer-there antique store where I pick Lauren up from school, buried under some other things at the back of a cabinet. The rock is carved so two different 'grains' show, one side pure black and very shiny, the other mottled with brown and gold.
10) Lauren's Grecian urn which was made in 3D Design, a sculpture class she took last year and, while not entire, or even mostly, shiny black, it has enough on it for me. The idea was to reinterpret a Grecian urn in modern terms with modern imagery.
