I have actually completed, thus far, 67 of my 101 tasks which doesn't really sound very good considering I have less than two months left, but many of my task are daily, weekly, monthly life-style tasks which can't actually be completed until December 31 so, while I'm not yet panicking, I am getting a bit jittery.

Task 16_Project_50 BOOKS

In order to complete this task, I will need to read about five books per month which, frankly, is daunting but I managed last year so...maybe. And it is a task I did NOT complete for October. Not even close!!
38_A Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin
no title Task 17_Project_100 MOVIES_DONE!!
In order to complete this task, I will need to watch about 10 movies per month, a task I completed for October &, frankly, for 2017. This task is done!

Dribs & Drabs

13_A Dance with Dragons by George R R Martin_Finished the last book of the Ice & Fire series, published in 2011 which concerns me. Martin left most everyone in very bad places and I am looking forward to how he will complete their stories which will necessarily differ from the Game of Thrones series. I loved reading this. I only wished it were done :(
18_Complete SKETCH JOURNAL_I've been trying to fill a sketch journal for like THREE years and finally have. From here on out I want to complete one drawing journal per year. The more you do the more you learn & improve. All the sketches below were done with an HB pencil & in 30 minutes.
7.jpeg 4.jpeg
These two pages represent my daily activity, one of petals and one of random stuff, a dried Thanksgiving goard, a Christmas stuffed reindeer from the 1950's, a wooden toy car David bought me 30 years ago, and a ceramic pencil holder Aaron made in elementary school. Each sketch was done in 30 minutes not each page!

3.jpeg 2.jpeg
Left is quick sketched ideas for one of drawing styles for the kid's book I'm hoping to do. Right is a landscape that was not done in 30 minutes. More like four hours :)
1.jpeg
These are back to the 30 minutes deal, a lemur pup's face, a Margay cub's eye reflecting forest-y bits, and a joey's ear, it's placement being upside down. When 30 minutes is up, it's up as can be seen especially by the lemur.
52_Watch 25 Art-related Documentaries_As can be seen from my Watch 100 Movies list above, I decided in October to wrap Task #52 up. I will do this again for next year's mission as I learned so much & was so very inspired.
79_Create list of Family Holiday & Seasonal Traditions_This list, which includes everything from when to decorate for the next holiday to what fruits & veggies are truly in season, will only continue to grow and was so fun to compile..
81_FreeRice_ 100,000/ 100,000_A long-running yearly task of donating 100,000 grains of rice while also happily improving my vocabulary if not my spelling.
98_Take 6 Online Courses_1 Journalism with Dan Rather; 1 How to Publish a kid's book, and 4 art-related courses, this year all through udemy.
99_Work up design for backyard_Design is done, I handed David a rudimentary pencil sketch and he turned it into an actual plan, and so now all that remains is actually start the project. First up, moving a tree from one side of the yard to the other.

It's stunning to me how, even after all this time, those two little words still bring tears to my eyes. This vid, which I snagged from secretsolitaire, is a lovely tribute made for the 2th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book. It's 'The 20 most memorable moments from the Harry Potter series -as chosen by fams'.

9_A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin
I have embarked on this series at last. Book one down, I am on to book two
15_The Great Courses_History of the Ancient World: A Global Perspective_Professor Gregory S Aldrete_48 Lectures
          Excellent course!!
These next three relate to a book I have wanted to do for YEARS. I've come to realize that, since this little picture book relates to Lauren's childhood, doing it will be theraputic, a transition from my little girl, Lauren and my adult son, Aaron. Once done, we have another picture book in mind, a joint project, that deals with that transition.

32_Describe CHILD's (Outside) Style
33_Describe INSIDE Style
34_Describe ADVENTURE Style
This deals with myart scheduling because, after watching a couple of documentaries about artists, that in the main they work on many things at once. I never have but now I do, two different kinds of drawings and the above-mentioned book

no title While I didn't entirely make it, having read 48 out the 50 books, I feel I am close enough to call this task COMPLETE & I also feel I am done with books for the remainder of the year. I think from now until December 31, I'll read my back-log of magazines and start fresh with this whole book thing in 2017.

Some of these books were part of a meme [livejournal.com profile] fansee posted about & that I decided to play with. The meme challenges are marked in RED.
Some of these books were part of my bookclub & are marked in BLUE.
Some of these books were rereads & are marked in GREEN.
