...whilst bike riding, Aaron decided to explore. He ventured down a path that skirts our Guadalupe Parkway, a river park that runs through San Jose that was designed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as a flood control project starting back in the 1960's. It runs through downtown, by the Children's Museum and the Performing Arts Center, and is more city-like, wide and controlled like this first photo I snagged off the internet or the second I took a while back that's right next to the.

Out here, though, in the suburbs in runs a bit more wild like these three photos of Aaron's which are actually the whole point of this post :) He took many many and I asked for the three, one selfie and two more he liked best.

Pretty California :)

...was my bookclub, something I've been involved with now for nearly 20 years, 18 to be exact, a realization of time that I find stunning. I've moved around a lot and have never before been anywhere long enough to be involved with anything for nearly 20 years.
Normally, we meet at a local restaurant of a Saturday morning some six weeks after we last met ostensibly to discuss the book we've read, in this case Seinfeldia, and we do...some. But mainly it's good food-good friends time. Last Saturday, instead, we met at Eileen's lovely home to paint rocks which we will then distribute, next time, around a little town near here called Campbell where, as a town project, people paint rocks, distribute them around and then, other people find them, taking them home to decorate their gardens.
The original photo has Janelle, me, Elizabeth, Cindy, and Eileen poising before our rocks.
The second Eileen snapchatted up :)
The third is our rocks taking their close-up.

What fun!!

no title   For my birthday, Aaron got me

PROTEST SOCKS!!! How cool are they? And they will be put to good use very soon at the Women's March on January 20th. Perfect!!
He also got me the lovely made-from-recycled-materials bag for toting around my drawing pencils. Also perfect.

Thanks for listening :)

Firstly, I want to thank...thank...thank film102 for once again, this now makes the third, or is it the fourth, year in a row, for sending me the Jacquie Lawson Advent Calendar!! Oh man, do I have such fun with this. The screen cap below shows about one third of the scene. Plus it doesn't even do the scene's 3D-ness any justice.
Every day has something to do or view, games to play or short little vids celebrating some holiday tradition. I made puzzles, matched delicious bits of candy, colored in a gingerbread house, decorated a tree and a snowman and a stocking. And created snowflakes. plus so much more.
I so look forward to this each year. It's become to mean to me the beginning of Christmas. Thank you again, Lyn, so very much!!

And then there was the Christmas Party at Susan's which was most excellent as usual. There was food and drink and the Gift Exchange! Lovely friends. Terrific memories :)

In back are me, Cindy, Elizabeth and Susan
Front are Jeannine and Barbara.

The rule of the gift exchange is simple: no more than $8 each And a toast of many colors.
Thus ends 2017 for me except for one last post, that being how my mission101 turned out.
Next time!!

It's stunning to me how, even after all this time, those two little words still bring tears to my eyes. This vid, which I snagged from secretsolitaire, is a lovely tribute made for the 2th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book. It's 'The 20 most memorable moments from the Harry Potter series -as chosen by fams'.
