Sunday August 28, 2011 As we were getting ready to put the groceries in the car, I realized where, actually, the keys were and that my phone was dead and that Lauren didn't bring hers ???, so back we went into the store where they let me use their phone to call David who brought us my spare set. Geeeez.


Monday August 29, 2011 Driving in our car. Well, actually, David's car, I don't consider his Mazda my Mazda, I have one of my own :D

Friday September 02, 2011 This began as just the middle portion, but was not enough for my dizzying array of magnets, so we added the top, Lauren neurotically arranged the magnets just so and bottom sections. The gecko was purchased from the science & tech museum the day before. The white paper next to the little calendar is Lauren's holidays and days off :DDD

Born and raised there...my parents actually live in Santa Cruz now, but we re-located to Vegas a couple years ago...This was just a trip home to visit. :))

I took the photo, those are my 3 kidlets.

Your pictures at the Academy of Arts and Sciences came out better (brighter) than mine did.

For a second I thought that second picture was her dorm room and I was thinking they really have upgraded the dorms. :) Actually UCSC did have one of the better reputations for housing.

Interestingly, I wasn't having much trouble taking pictures there, most came out pretty nice. I'm thinking I may do a 'Summer Round-Up' of pics I took and will probably include some more from there.

Wouldn't it be cool if the dorms did look like that, but no. I think their reputation may be good for UC housing, but Lauren's friends in private colleges seem to have it a little better.

I'll post another photo soon showing how it all packed up, which was pretty sweet, we organized ourselves well & that trunk held a ton of stuff like most of her clothes, the bedding etc. We figured we might as well do it right since she will be moving in and out, like you said, every year.

I'm very pleased with my butterfly shot, one quiet, one fluttery.

Love the movement in the butterfly photo. You know song, Ice, Ice Baby, by Vanilla Ice? The lyrics changed and went running through my head when I saw the Apple store photo, Stealth, Stealth, Baby.

Oh, my word. I never had that much stuff. The rooms were way too small to accomodate it.

They still are; I went back in 2010 to see the dorm and the windows haven't changed so they left the rooms as they were when I was there with different set up for computers, etc.

All that stuff fit in with some room left over :D and except for computer upgrades, I doubt these rooms have changed since the building was built either, like in the late 1060s.

it's those green things, the fountain and the tunnel structure. They aren't always there and they really do add that pop.
