The Largest Food Drive in America! is this Saturday

I snagged this from my monthly District 9 newsletter that I receive in my email even though I'm not actually in District 9 and which I thought I should pass on to my most generous f-list. The 'I' in the last line is Councilmember Donald Rocha.

And I'd like to be able to tell you that this will be my only PSA for the week, but with the mood I'm in, probably not.

The largest food drive in America is Saturday May 12^th and it’s easy to participate!  Just leave non-perishable food items like canned foods, soups, peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables, and cereals next to your mail box on Saturday May 12^th and your letter carrier will take the food back to their post office where teams of volunteers will deliver everything to the Second Harvest Food Bank for sorting and distribution

This is an easy way to make a big difference in our community and I encourage each of you to participate.

I did this today! I had two BIG bags of groceries. Everything was stuff I had couponed for and matched with sales so both bags had about $50 of groceries for about $7 total.
