absolutely true, maybe a return to our beginnings? I can't imagine many are born hardened, but are hardened through early childhood experiences. I'd like to think that process is reversible, that it is possible to return to a more positive, a softer, state of being..

It is. I think it's a matter of choosing whether to let life make you even more hard and bitter, or resilient and positive. I hope no matter what the future holds, I'll always choose the latter; it's a much better place to be.
